WHS introduces Tri-M society

Wayland Student Press Network 6/6/13: WHS introduces Tri-M society. The National Honor Society, which honors students for academic and community-related achievements, has been a part of WHS’s history for over sixty years. However, there hasn’t been such a society for musical achievements in the past.

Starting this spring, selected students will have the opportunity to apply for the Tri-M Music Honor Society. It was founded in 1936 and is an internationally known society for middle and high school students. The society recognizes students for exceptional performance ability as well as academic achievements. However, this is the first year WHS is offering admission to Tri-M to students.
