Wayland Town Crier 5/9/13: Story behind break-ins in Wayland. According to Detective Ruth Backman, Wayland was hit by a rash of daytime break-ins starting in March, continuing through April and into May. Rice Road was the target on March 26, Concord Road the next day, and Woodridge Road on March 28. Then on April 2, it was Old Tavern Road, and on April 29 it was Oak Street.
Also during April, unlocked cars in neighborhoods on Oxbow, Campbell, York, Plain and White roads were vandalized. In addition, there is continuing concern about a vacant house on Old Connecticut Path that teens are entering and using.
