Wayland resident to appear in Woodland Theatre Company’s The Sound of Music

Anika Reichelt of Wayland will appear as Brigitta in Woodland Theatre Company’s family production of The Sound of Music. Performances are May 10th and 11th at 8pm and May 12th at 2pm, at the Lowell Mason Auditorium, Medfield High School, 88R South Street, Medfield, MA.  This is Anika’s first production with Woodland Theatre Company. Anika is a sixth grader at Wayland Middle School. Her previous roles include (Storyteller) Children of Eden; Wellesley Players and (Young Eponine/Ensemble) Les Misérables; Weston Drama Workshop.

Maria, a postulant who is causing the Abbey trouble, is sent off to be governess to a widowed naval Captain’s seven troublesome children. Maria teaches them to sing and Captain Von Trapp to love. When the Nazis invade Austria, their happiness is threatened and the whole family is forced to flee over the mountains to Switzerland. The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Sound of Music was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical, and the most popular movie musical of all time.
