Don’t Miss the First Parish in Wayland Rummage Sale, Saturday, April 6

First Parish in Wayland will be holding its popular and kid-friendly rummage sale on Saturday April 6, 9am-1pm. The sale has been a Wayland institution for nearly 70 years. According to the records of its Women’s Alliance, the first rummage sale was held in June 1944.

There is a department for every taste, including toys, books for all ages, antiques, furniture, jewelry, linens, kitchenware and* housewares, lawn and garden, small appliances, sporting goods, clothing for all ages, and fun accessories. In the Bric-a-Brac department, nothing costs more than a dollar! Proceeds of the sale benefit the church and local charities such as The Turning Point Shelter in Framingham, the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable and Habitat for Humanity. Admission to the sale is $2; no charge for children when accompanied by an adult.

Donations of goods that are clean and in working order will be accepted from Sunday, March 31 at 1:00 p.m. through Wednesday, April 3 at 5 p.m. We can’t take the following, because we can’t sell them: computers and printers, toys with missing parts, dirty or broken items, textbooks, upholstered couches, mattresses, office furniture, exercise machines, used shoes, and TVs.

The historic First Parish Meetinghouse is located at the intersection of Routes 20 and 27 in Wayland Center. For more information, write to Lynn Trimby (lynn.trimby@gmail.com).
