Tuesday, March 12, “Caught in the Web: Online Safety for You and Your Kids, Wayland Public Safety Building, 3pm. Join the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable for a presentation of “Caught in the Web: Online Safety for You and Your Kids”. Like many parents, you worry about what your children are doing online. You are also probably worried that they know more about the Internet than you do. Here’s your chance to understand some of the risks your children face online and learn how to talk with your children about their Internet habits. Active parenting is the key to keeping children safe online. The featured speakers are Victoria Kempf and Tony Loftis. Victoria Kempf is an RN and Internet safety expert who advocates for the health and safety of children as they explore the online world. As a parent, she was concerned about her children’s online safety, and as a result co-founded ScreenRetrievers, an Internet safety company with a product that helps keep children safe online. She is a contributor to TeenLife.com and howtolearn.com. Tony Loftis is a communications specialist and educator with a strong background in social media. He’s the co-founder of Find Your Missing Child, a nonprofit organization that teaches social media skills to parents searching for missing and runaway children. The public is invited to attend this free presentation.
