Wayland Town Crier 12/16/12: Wayland resident helps underprivileged with new company. Growing up in family of doctors in Mumbai, Priya Samant of Wayland saw her large and close-knit clan constantly helping the needy. She moved to the Boston area in 2000 to pursue an education and a consulting career in software technology. But when she encountered complications with her second pregnancy, she decided she didn’t want to go back to corporate life.
“I definitely wanted to use my education, but with a social responsibility piece to help the country where I was born and raised,” she said. The result has been a small company called EarthFrendz, which she founded in 2009 with the mission of giving underprivileged people a global platform to display their talent and help create green living and a better community.
