Recently, when Pam Washek of Wayland saw the overwhelming support of those who had contributed to help her receive cancer treatment, she said, “I just sat down on my bed and cried. I was blown away.” Washek, 47, has had a long-running battle with synovial cell sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. She was first diagnosed a decade ago, when a tumor appeared in her left shoulder.
