Are you new to MEDICARE, or are you enrolled but now struggling with which plan to select during "OPEN ENROLLMENT" (October 15-Dec. 7)? Wayland SHINE Counselors Kathleen Woerhling and Susan Foley will guide you through the process at an informative coffee hour. There will be handouts, time for questions as well as an opportunity to schedule a private counseling session with a SHINE counselor (Serving Health Information Needs of Elders); a highly trained volunteer available to guide seniors through this arduous process.  As you prepare for these upcoming decisions, DO NOT IGNORE ANY LETTERS FROM YOUR PLANS! SAVE ALL THE LETTERS. Please remember that in addition to this informational coffee hour on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 10:30, you may also want to schedule a private appointment with one of our state-certified SHINE (Medicare) counselors at the Wayland COA. They can help you understand your plan changes as well as other options you may have. Both of our SHINE volunteers have provided us with extended hours to help people with Open Enrollment decisions.
