Wayland Recreation Department is offering High School Girls’ Self-Defense Workshop

This program uses the Not-Me! Progressive Boundary Setting System (PBSS) developed to teach you “how NOT to be chosen as a victim” and “how to identify a possible predator, and rebuff the annoying jerk”.

This 2-hour seminar will focus on teaching participants how to set your boundaries and enforce them through role playing scenarios.  You will be coached through potential difficulties with bullying, dating, and other social situations that typically come up for teens and learn how to defend yourself by building your visual fence, your verbal fence, and finally your physical fence.  Focus on learning how your boundaries appear to others who may be assessing your ‘victim worthiness”.  Before it is over, participants will learn some easy commonsense techniques of physical self-defense in case it is ever needed.

Start today and learn to be assertive.  Workshop will be held on Friday, October 19, 3:30 – 5:30pm, Grades 9 – 12, Wayland Town Building Gym, and fee is $24 per participant.  Register online at Wayland Recreation Department or call the office at 508-358-3660.
