Sudbury Valley Trustees Announces New Fall Family Programming

Sudbury Valley Trustees is launching several new programs for young families, starting in September.  These programs will introduce young up-and-coming naturalists to the habitat, plants and wildlife in our region.  SVT has been preserving land in the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord river basin for over 50 years, protecting wildlife, promoting outdoor recreation, and educating the community in the values of conservation.   Register for SVT’s family programs at www.svtweb.org or call 978-443-5588.  Visit SVT’s website for future announcements about family programming for late fall and early winter.  Children and families can always explore SVT’s reservations year round.  There is probably a SVT property nearby.  Families are welcome to stop in to the Nature Nook at Wolbach Farm in Sudbury.  The nature nook provides a variety of interactive games and activities to learn more about our natural surroundings.   Enjoy the seasonal displays, activities, crafts and children's books highlighting the plants and wildlife of Wolbach Farm and other local conservation areas.

Natural Wonders
Why are chipmunks so busy?  What is happening to the leaves?  How do you prepare for winter?  SVT and MassAudubon's Drumlin Farm are collaborating to present Natural Wonders, a series of six weekly walks exploring how plants and animals prepare for the cold weather ahead. Guided by a Drumlin Farm Naturalist, participants will discover the answers to these questions and more.  Families will  discover the habitats of Wolbach Farm and meet some of the creatures that live in the forest, meadows, ponds, and even in your backyard!  For preschoolers or older children with grown-up.

Children's Story Walk at Wolbach Farm
