Wayland Patch 8/25/12: Wayland Police Recognized for Traffic Safety Efforts. The Wayland Police Department was one of 23 local police departments honored at the annual Massachusetts Law Enforcement Challenge (MLEC) Awards Ceremony along with the Massachusetts State Police for excellence in traffic safety efforts during calendar year 2011 to reduce motor vehicle related fatalities, injuries, and economic losses to the Commonwealth. In recognition of their efforts, the Wayland Police Department was awarded a plaque in the silver category and selected equipment from Adamson Industries from the nearly $25,000 in donated prizes by vendors.
