Preview of Board of Selectmen Meeting, Monday, August 27

The Board of Selectmen will hold a special meeting on Monday, August 27, 2012 in Town Building.  After reviewing the agenda for the viewing public and receiving public comment, Selectmen will discuss set the date for the petitioned Special Town Meeting and open the Warrant.  The Board will also review the schedule for related meetings, logistics such as location and expenses related to holding the meeting, and deadlines for completing the Warrant as rquired by town bylaws within the 45 day time limit specified in state law for petitioned special town meetings.



Selectmen will then revisit their discussion of the request from the School Committee for technical assistance from citizens with the independent reveiw of certain school accounts that will be undertaken by a professional auditing or consulting firm retained by the School Committee.



Next, the Board will review and approve the draft letter reflecting the August 20 discussion on concerns with the process for moving forward with a school building feasibility study for Minuteman Regional Vocational-Technical High School.



Selectmen will also review a new Open Meeting Law complaint filed by George Harris concerning the level of detail provided on posted meeting agendas.



The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room.
