Wayland Town Crier 7/31/12: Wayland resident serves as musical director for Little Women. Based on Louisa May Alcott’s enduringly popular novel about the adventures of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy in Civil War-era New England, Mark Adamo’s opera “Little Women” has been performed in more than 70 national and international engagements since its 1998 premiere by Houston Grand Opera. Performances by Opera del West will be at The Center for Arts in Natick (www.natickarts.org), 14 Summer St., Natick, on Friday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $22 for adults, $20 for members and $15 for students and seniors. The stage direction will be by Adrienne Boris, and the music direction by Eve Budnick of Wayland, who is the founder and artistic director of Opera del West.
