Wayland residents vote out incumbent selectman

Wayland Town Crier 4/4/12: Wayland residents vote out incumbent selectman. Voters yesterday ousted selectman and former state representative Susan Pope from the Board of Selectmen, choosing newcomers Doug Leard and Edward Collins. In a four-way race, Leard led the pack with 1,048 votes, followed by Collins with 931. Pope garnered 885 votes and Chris Brown received 782. Turnout was modest: 1,948 voters, or 21 percent of the town’s 9,008 registered voters, went to the polls.
