Boston Globe 2/23/12: Parmenter Community Health Care in Wayland receives $5.6 million gift. At a time when health care agencies are struggling to make ends meet, Parmenter Community Health Care can breathe a little easier thanks to a generous donation from a former patient. Former Wellesley resident Joan Batchelder, who died of cancer in 2010, left $5.6 million to the nonprofit organization. The bequest is by far the largest in its 56-year-history, said Cynthia Maher, chief executive officer of the Wayland-based agency.
