Different viewpoints on Wayland’s water at League forum

Wayland Town Crier 2/10/12: Different viewpoints on Wayland's water at League forum . Wayland’s drinking water was subjected to intense scrutiny at a recent presentation at the Town Building sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Wayland. The first two speakers discussing global and regional water issues were Janot Mendler de Suarez of Wayland, co-chair of the Global Oceans Forum working group on oceans and climate, and Alison Field-Juma, executive director of OARS, the watershed organization for the Assabet, Sudbury and Concord Rivers. Next, Tom Sciacca of Wayland, a member of the now-disbanded Wellhead Protection Committee, declared the town “has a 50-year history of abusing its wells.”
