Town of Wayland: Petitioner’s Workshop Kicks Off First Phase of Annual Town Meeting Process. At 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 9, the Board of Selectmen will conduct the Petitioner’s Workshop for the 2012 Annual Town Meeting. The workshop is an open discussion with citizens interested or contemplating submission of a petitioned article to be included in the 2012 Annual Town Meeting Warrant. The workshop is meant to identify potential articles and provide resources to assure that the concept proposed is in proper legal form and will be ready for action at town meeting. The process and timeline for submission, review, and action on petitioned articles will be discussed. Key dates include:
- Tuesday, January 17 at 4:30 p.m. – deadline for submission of articles at Selectmen’s Office/li>
- Monday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. – Finance Committee article hearing, Town Building/li>
- Wednesday, February 15 at 4:00 p.m. – deadline for submission of sponsor’s and petitioner’s comments for publication in ATM Warrant/li>
- Tuesday, March 20 – postal delivery of 2012 Annual Town Meeting Warrant/li>
- Monday, March 26 or Wednesday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. – Annual Town Meeting Warrant Hearing, Large Hearing Room in Town Building/li>
- Monday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. – Annual Town Meeting begins, Middle School gymnasium
