Wayland Town Crier 11/28/11: Wayland woman charged with kicking police officer in the head. Police charged a Wayland woman with assault and battery on a police officer Sunday night after she kicked an officer in the head, the chief said. Grace E. Fogarty, 32, of 3 Amey Road, had been taken into protective custody earlier that night, after she was reported to be intoxicated at J.J. McKay’s Restaurant & Pub on Commonwealth Road. "She was being uncontrollable in her cell" at the station," said Police Chief Robert Irving, and when two officers went in to restrain her, she kicked one of them in the head. She is scheduled to be arraigned at Framingham District Court today, police said.

A Wayland police officer was back at work one day after being kicked on the right side of the head by a woman in protective custody. The woman, 32-year-old Grace Fogarty of 3 Amey Road in Wayland, was subsequently arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer.
