Chief Robert Irving is pleased to announce the appointment of Lynnet J. Sloan as a police officer with the Wayland Police Department

Chief Robert Irving is pleased to announce the appointment of Lynnet J. Sloan as a police officer with the Wayland Police Department.   Officer Sloan was selected for this position in May.  She is a graduate of Algonquin Regional High School and has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Massachusetts Bay Community College. 
 
Officer Sloan graduated from the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority Police Academy on November 2nd.    A Southborough resident, Officer Sloan has previous law enforcement experience through the Massachusetts State Police Student Trooper Academy.
 
A swearing in ceremony will take place at the Board of Selectmen’s meeting this evening, when Officer Sloan will take the Oath of Office from Wayland Town Clerk, Lois Toombs.
 
The hiring of Officer Sloan brings the overall strength of the department to twenty-one of its authorized level of twenty-two.  Officer Sloan becomes the fourth female officer on the department.
