Governor Signs Legislative Redistricting Bills

Wayland Patch 11/3/11: Governor Signs Legislative Redistricting Bills. Gov. Deval Patrick has signed bills establishing new legislative districts for Massachusetts. The new districts are a result of 2010 Census numbers requiring the new districts be established. Patrick Thursday signed House Bill No. 3770, “An Act Relative to Establishing Representative Districts in the General Court” and Senate Bill No. 2045, “An Act Establishing Executive Councillor and Senatorial Districts.” Under the new House maps, Wayland is split between the 13th Middlesex district, represented by Tom Conroy (D-Wayland), and the 14th Norfolk district, represented by Alice Hanlon Peisch (D-Wellesey). Under the previous maps, Conroy represented all of Wayland.
