Wayland Town Crier 10/13/11: Trial date set for Wayland murder case. A Wayland man is tentatively scheduled to go to trial next year on charges he killed his ex-girlfriend in July.
Nathaniel Fujita’s trial is scheduled for Oct. 29, 2012.
Fujita, 18, is charged with murdering his ex-girlfriend, Lauren Astley, also 18, at his 108 West Plain St. home on July 3.
Fujita’s lawyer William Sullivan and prosecutor Lisa McGovern had a pretrial conference yesterday in Middlesex Superior Court during which they set a tentative case schedule. Along with the trial date, a hearing on a defense motion to dismiss has been scheduled for Jan. 12. Fujita was not in court.
