Wayland Town Crier 8/29/11: One-fifth of Wayland without power; library temporarily closed. No serious injuries were reported during the storm in the town of Wayland, but approximately 20 percent of the town is without power. NStar was in town through Sunday afternoon, but they have temporarily redeployed their forces. Officials expect them to return to Wayland soon to resume working on power-related issues. It is conceivable it may take several days to restore everyone’s power. NStar has not yet provided the town with any estimates. As a general rule, the larger problems affecting major roadways will be fixed first. Smaller roads and individual houses can expect power to be out longer, possibly days.
