Lend Your Expertise to Help Improve Our Public Building Projects

Town of Wayland 7/28/11: Lend Your Expertise to Help Improve Our Public Building Projects.

There are several opportunities for citizens to volunteer to serve as a member of a town board, committee or commission. A complete list of vacancies is posted here.

Of particular note are five seats on the Permanent Municipal Building Committee. Selectmen seek individuals with training, education or experience in construction management, structural or civil engineering, HVAC building systems, construction law, architecture, or interior design to shepherd public building projects from site selection and schematic design through construction and occupancy. These five members will be joined by two citizens with particular interest in the program needs of each project assigned to the committee to be appointed by the Selectmen with participation by the board or committee served by the project. The initial assignment is a public works maintenance, storage and office facility.

Interested citizens are invited to submit a letter of interest and a statement of pertinent education, professional and vocational experience for the position sought by sending an email to Town Administrator Fred Turkington by August 16, 2011 in order to receive full consideration.
