NECN 7/6/11: Friends remember Wayland, Mass. teen. "She loved being with the kids and all the kids loved her as a councilor," said friend and former co-worker, Alex Steinroeder. Alex Steinroeder worked with the recent Wayland High grad at Wayland's Longfellow Cub, and said to know Lauren Astley was to love her. "She was really nice. Just made everyone a lot happier. She was really fun to be around. She was really funny person," said Steinroeder. But Lauren's friends admit she did have issues with her on and off again boyfriend, and now her accused killer Nathaniel Fujita. "I don't think anyone was ever really concerned that something would happen. I Knew that they were kind of a turbulent couple, like one day they would be really good and the next day they would be fighting," said friend and co-worker, Ailsa McAfee.
