Wayland Patch 7/5/11: Wayland Man Arrested and Charged With Murder of Lauren Astley. An 18-year-old Wayland man was arrested and charged with murder Tuesday morning, following the discovery Monday of the body of Lauren Astley, 18, also of Wayland, in a marshy area off Rte. 27, officials said.

Nathaniel Fujita, 18, was charged with murder, and is expected to be arraigned in Framingham District Court later this morning, according to a press release from the state District Attorney’s Office.

Astley’s body, discovered Monday morning, was found with an obvious wound to the neck, and her death was later declared a homicide. The body was discovered by a bicyclist passing through the area, the release said.

The murder is being investigated by the Wayland Police and the State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
