“SonSurf” Offers Children a Fun-Filled Week at the “Beach”!

School is almost out for the summer.  Your kids may be happy about that, but how long will it be before you hear the old familiar phrase, “I’m bored, there’s nothing to do.”

Here’s a suggestion!  Enroll your kids in a fun “beach” experience.

Trinitarian Congregational Church (TCC), 53 Cochituate Road, Wayland, is once again offering “Kids’ Week” June 27 through June 30, 2011.   Camp hours are 9am-12pm Monday through Thursday, with an evening family closing celebration and barbecue on June 30 6-8pm.

“Kid’s Week” is TCC’s version of what is traditionally known as Vacation Bible School, but with more fun!  Kids will kick off their mornings with interactive large group assemblies where they will have a BLAST watching two young beach enthusiasts attend junior lifeguard training at SonSurf Beach.  The head lifeguard is afraid of going into the water because of her fear of sharks, but her best friend Big “D” is there to encourage her to overcome her fear and manages to teach the campers some surfer lingo and Bible truths along the way.  SonSurf campers will learn who Jesus is, why they can trust Jesus, why they need Jesus, how Jesus can help them, and what Jesus wants them to do. The rest of their morning will be spent in age-leveled groups where they will participate in lively music, creative crafts, and recreation.

“SonSurf” Kids Week is offered free of charge to children entering kindergarten through entering grade five.  There will, however, be opportunities to help support both foreign and local missions.  Monies will be collected to support a Haitian child as well as to support The Boston Project Ministries homework club in Dorchester.  In addition to collecting monies, campers are encouraged to donate new school supplies and new or gently used backpacks for Dorchester children in need.

Gail Hughson, Director of Children’s Ministries at TCC and the entire Kid’s Week team is hoping that kids from all over MetroWest are able to join them for a fun-filled week at “SonSurf”.   For more information or to fill out a registration form, visit Trinitarian’s website, www.tccwayland.org or call the church office at 508-358-7717.
