Wayland Town Crier 5/1/11: ‘Almost, Maine’ at Vokes Theatre in Wayland. It wasn’t like Jim Barton was begging to do this, but he came close.

Barton had heard about the play “Almost, Maine” years ago, but had never seen it or read it. Once he got hold of the script, “I loved it,” he said. When the Vokes Theatre’s play selection committee put it on its list for consideration, “I went to the committee and said ‘this is what I want to do.’ They said, ‘it’s yours.”‘

Barton, a Marlborough resident, is directing the quirky John Cariani play which has a May 5 to 21 run at Vokes in Wayland.
