A Wayland firefighter’s sister was in the middle of the massive storm that cut a path of destruction through an Alabama town, and now his department is helping with the relief efforts. The firefighter’s sister is studying at the University of Alabama and watched as the deadly twister ripped through her neighborhood. She is still there helping those who lost everything, and her family wanted to send just a few things to help out. But as the word spread, the donations kept pouring in.
