Wayland Town Crier 3/22/11: Memorial service for Hank Norwood on Saturday. Family, friends and fellow birders are mourning the loss of longtime Wayland resident Henry “Hank” Hamilton Norwood, who died on March 2 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief bout with melanoma. He was 80. Norwood was probably best known in the area for his leadership role in the annual Concord Christmas Bird Count, which he coordinated and conducted for 51 years. A memorial service will be held at the First Parish Church in Wayland on Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to the Sudbury Valley Trustees, Parmenter Community Health or Williams College.
