Pegasus Program: Getting Ready to Soar

Tune Into Pegasus on WayCAM on Saturdays

Starting at 7 am and continuing until 3 pm Saturday, March 19, 2011, it's a Pegasus Extravaganza on our local cable stations, Verizon, Channel 37,  and Comcast, Channel 9. If your child has come to Pegasus in the past and is returning this summer, it's a great way to build the excitement for more fun times to come. If you are considering enrolling your child, the TV programs provide a window into the great programming and enrichment Pegasus offers children.  See for yourself why this program has thrived for 18 summers.

Shows being broadcast include the TV show created and produced by Pegasus participants in the specialty area, WPKN (Wayland Pegasus Kids News), last summer's exciting basketball game, the plays, a magic show, and WPKN and Incredible Adventures' trip to Patriot Hall.

WayCAM plans to continue these Pegasus broadcasts through Saturdays in April. Check the schedule on waycam.tv to confirm.

A Pegasus Preview. Take a look at what's on the calendar.

Wednesdays are Field Trip Days for Grades One through Six and Fridays are Special Event Days. We'll also have special theme days throughout the summer!

Wonderful Wednesdays  – Field Trips

Session One
July 6, Roger Williams Zoo, Grades 1 – 6    In this natural setting, children will see more than 100 species of animals from around the world. There are mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians and insects!   Discover a remarkably diverse gathering of animals in this gem of a zoo.

July 13, Grades 4 – 6 are heading to Charles River Canoe and Kayak for a great outdoor and team-building experience.

More to Come…

Session Two
July 20,  The home of the New England Patriots has a lot to offer besides a scenic stadium. Last summer WPKN and Incredible Adventures visited Patriot Hall and got to take on Teddy Bruschi in simulated defensive drills, try on Tom Brady's old uniform, and relive some great moments in Patriots history, complete with confetti falling all around us!

This summer we're opening up the trip to all Grades One through Six children and the Patriots staff has a great day planned for us: Patriot Hall interactive exhibits, a walk on the nature trail,  exploration of the cranberry bog, and a close-up look at a first-rate sports facility.

July 27, Grades One through Three – Field Trip to the Ecotarium in Worcester, a unique indoor-outdoor museum, hands-on and kid-friendly, with everything from a treetop walk to a journey through the galaxy.

August 3, Grades One through Three – Lobster Tales, Plymouth, Time for a swashbuckling adventure at sea: search for a treasure, take on a pirate ship and win, then celebrate with music, song, and dance.
