VALENTINE LUNCHEON with the SHERBORN MELODY MAKERS.  Wed., Feb. 16, Noon, $6, Reservations Required. A special Valentine musical performance has been created for this luncheon.  Don't miss the fun, food, music and door prizes!  Our caterer for this event is Liberty's Pizza, serving their popular Chicken Broccoli Ziti, tossed salad and rolls. While dessert and coffee are being served, enjoy a musical tribute to love, with selections including Side By Side, Ain't Misbehavin', I'll Never Fall In Love Again, Puttin' On the Ritz and more! (We will be providing transportation for anyone who needs a ride; call 508-358-2990.)
 
INCOME TAX HELP. It’s that time of year again when our AARP Income Tax volunteers will be available to help low- to moderate-income seniors with the completion of their federal and state income tax returns. Appointments will be scheduled from early February through early April. You must call to make an appointment for your taxes. FYI: If you hold stocks, bonds or mutual funds, please hold off scheduling your appointment until after Feb. 17, as some firms do not mail out documents until that date.
 
FEBRUARY IS COA FOOD DRIVE MONTH FOR PARMENTER FOOD PANTRY. Please bring in any items you wish to donate and place them in the decorated box at the Council on Aging. Items that are
welcome include canned fruits, vegetables, and soup, dry cereal, coffee, tea, pasta, spaghetti sauce, and paper goods (paper towels, toilet paper).
 
BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA OPEN REHEARSALS – BUS TRANSPORTATION
There are three evening rehearsals remaining: Feb. 23, Apr. 6, and May 4;  Transportation for the remaining rehearsals is $60. For those attending the two remaining morning rehearsals ( Jan. 13 and March 10), cost for transportation to the morning session is $40. To order Open Rehearsal tickets, call the BSO at 888-266-7575. “ART OF THE AMERICAS” AT THE MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS – Friday, Feb. 25, $40. Join us on a guided tour to see the MFA’s “Art of the Americas” that showcases more than 5,000 works of art produced in North, Central and South America over the course of three millennia. Art in all media is arranged chronologically on four floors. Trip includes transportation, admission, and a guided tour of the new wing. Lunch on your own.
The motorcoach will depart from the Wayland Town Building at 9:30am, in time for the 10:15am guided tour of the new wing. After the tour, attendees are welcome to explore the museum.. The motorcoach will leave the MFA at 2:00pm and return to Wayland no later than 3pm. Reservations and prepayment required.

TAI CHI for Stress Reduction, Wednesdays, 10:30-11:30am
Certified Instructor: Robin Natanel. 5 classes in March: $25 if pre-registered for month or $8.00/class if not.
Learn to use the Tai Chi form to increase your physical balance and "sense" of balance. Tai Chi allows you to physically, mentally and emotionally feel YOUR flow aligning with the flow of nature. The class begins with music and meditation, some Qi Qong breathing techniques, temple exercises for flexible joints and strength, then the Tai Chi form itself. Class adapts to the participants’ individual needs. Tai Chi can lower blood pressure, improve balance, reduce pain and effective for stress reduction. Tai Chi is open to non-seniors*  Those starting mid-month will be pro-rated at $5/class if registering for the month.
 
BETTER BALANCE“Independent and Upright Living”
Next session will start Feb. 11 (4 consecutive Fridays). $25/4 wks. All classes are on Fridays, 10:30-11:30am in the Hearing Room.
Leslie Worris of the Wellness Alliance teaches strategies to avoid and prevent falls. Have fun while learning to improve your balance and increase strength. Use balls and weights while incorporating yoga and tai chi techniques to improve posture, flexibility, gait, breathing and endurance..
