Wayland resident returns to U.S. after deployment

Wayland Town Crier 1/13/11: Wayland resident returns to U.S. after deployment. Army National Guard Spec. Adam M. Thompson of Wayland is returning to the U.S. after a deployment overseas. Army National Guard members are currently serving in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/New Dawn, and in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The soldiers return to Joint Base Dix-McGuire-Lakehurst, N.J., for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units. Thompson, a motor transport operator with six years of military service, is regularly assigned to the 1166th Combat Heavy Equipment Transport Company of Worcester. He is the son of Rick and Karen Thompson of Wayland.
