Schools unveil Bullying Plan Website

I am pleased to advise you that the Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan for the Wayland Public Schools has been submitted to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).   All school districts were required to submit their plans to the DESE no later than December 31, 2010. We are also required to review and update our plans at least biennially, as mandated by M.G.L. c. 71, § 37O sec. 5 (d), § 15.

The December 31 submission deadline was an important milestone, but it is not the end of our journey. As we have developed our Plan, we have done so with an understanding that new challenges and ideas will emerge during its implementation. Thus, we welcome feedback and look forward to working together with parents, students, community members, and all staff to create a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.

To view the plan and provide additional feedback, please visit our new Bullying Plan website which also includes information about how to report incidents of bullying and links to additional resources.
