JCC Early Learning Center, Wayland welcomes new director bringing extensive experience to program

December 6, 2010 — Choosing a preschool is a tough decision. The JCC Early Learning Center (ELC), Wayland is making the decision easier for parents by hiring a new director with extensive education experience and a passion for excellence in preschool education. Chantal Lawrence recently joined the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston as the Director of the JCC Early Learning Center in Wayland. A graduate of the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa (BA, Psychology) and Potchefstroom University (MA, Counseling Psychology) and Higher Education Diploma in Guidance and Counseling and German at the University of South Africa, Lawrence has worked in the fields of education and psychology for over 20 years.

Her extensive work experience includes both clinical and school counseling, guidance counseling, educational psychological support service, and early childhood learning program management throughout South Africa and Charleston, South Carolina. “Chantal Lawrence was selected for this position for her strong commitment to providing a nurturing, stimulating environment for children and families,” said Jeanne Lovy, JCC Assistant Vice President, Early Learning. “She shares the JCC’s belief in the impact of high-quality early learning experiences provided within the framework of Jewish values and traditions. We are delighted to have her join the JCC team.”

The JCC Early Learning Center, Wayland is located at Temple Shir Tikva at 141 Boston Post Road in Wayland, 508-358-5331, and is one of six JCC Early Learning Centers operated by the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston.
