Rosie Rosenzweig
The Dalai Lama, as a Buddhist figure, has become a magnet for many Westerners. This talk will present the basic tenets of Buddhism as a philosophy and as a faith. A brief history of its founder will be included. Audience participation will contribute to a discussion of its popular image.
Rosie is Resident Scholar in Women's Studies at Brandeis University and the author of numerous articles on Buddhist and Kabbalistic topics. She was introduced to various Buddhist sages through her son, a one time resident of Nepal who experienced a three year Buddhist silent retreat. Rosenzweig wrote about receiving personal teachings from her son’s gurus in “The Jewish Mother in Shangri-la” (Shambhala publications). She has been ordained as a Jewish Meditation teacher by Chochmat Ha-Lev in Berkeley, CA.
