More than 70% of breast cancer diagnoses go unexplained while the rate of the disease has risen dramatically over the past 50 years. This workshop explores the connection between environmental toxins and the rise in the rate of breast cancer while offering both political and practical actions to potentially reduce risk. Participants will participate in making healthier products to take and try at home. Speaker – Erin Boles, M.S.W., is the Associate Executive Director, Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition heading up the coalition’s public affairs and grassroots efforts. She also acts as MBCC’s liaison to the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow and national coalitions such as the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families.
