Underage Drinking Parties

On Friday, August 13th, 2010, Wayland Police responded to two large underage drinking parties.  At 10:10pm officers responded to a home on Glezen Lane in regards to a noise complaint.  Upon arrival officers discovered numerous unsupervised youths ranging in age from 14 to 17.  Within the home were numerous opened and unopened cans of beer.  It was estimated that approximately 100 empty beer cans were located in the house.  Many youths fled the house on foot when police arrived and one youth ran into a tree causing a head injury that required transportation to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.   The 14 year old juvenile in charge of the house will be summoned to court for Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Procuring Alcohol for Minors.  The parents of those juveniles that were located, or remained at the house, were contacted and the Wayland Youth Officer is conducting an investigation to determine who provided the alcohol to the youths.  The following day 57 unopened cans of beer and a bottle of vodka were found in the woods near the house.

At 11:36 P.M. police responded to noise complaint at a residence on Jericho Lane.  Upon arrival officers discovered 20-30 youths, many fled on foot when they realized police were at the residence.  Police observed approximately 30 opened cans of beer and an open bottle of vodka.  The ages of the youths that remained in the home ranged from 18 to 20.  Investigation revealed that the person in charge of the residence, Geoffrey Green, age 20, had provided the alcohol.  He will be summoned to court on the charges of Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Procuring Alcohol for Minors.
