Preview of the August 9 Board of Selectmen Meeting

The next meeting of the Board of Selectmen will be held on Monday, August 9 in Town Building.   After considering the consent calendar, reviewing correspondence, and discussing agenda items for future meetings, the Board will discuss the capital planning process for the coming fiscal year and potential topics and format of the State of the Town meeting tentatively scheduled for September 29.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., selectmen will convene a joint session with the Planning Board to consider candidates who wish to be considered for the vacancy for associate member (appointment to expire in spring 2011, when the remaining portion of the term that ends at the adjournment of the 2014 Annual Town Meeting is filled at the town election).  Andrew Reck has submitted a letter of interest and resume for consideration by the two boards meeting in joint session.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., the Board of Selectmen will be joined by the Historic District Commission for a general discussion on the rules and regulations governing HDC consideration of permit applications.  Later, the two boards will discuss elements of the decision granting a certificate of hardship with conditions for traffic improvements for the Town Center project and the potential for compromises that would settle the litigation with Twenty Wayland, LLC over the certificate.

The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room.

Note that the next following meeting of the Board of Selectmen is scheduled to be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Building.
