Preview of Board of Selectmen Meeting for Thursday, July 8

The next meeting of the Board of Selectmen will be held on Thursday, July 8 in Town Building.   It will begin with a joint session with the Planning Board to consider candidates who wish to be considered for the vacancies for regular member (term expiring at the adjournment of the 2011 Annual Town Meeting) and associate member (appointment to expire in spring 2011, when the remaining portion of the term that ends at the adjournment of the 2014 Annual Town Meeting is filled at the town election).

At approximately 7:30 p.m., representatives of the regional planning agency will make a presentation on changes to the organization, including the hiring of an executive director and a re-focusing of the group’s mission.  The MetroWest Growth Management Committee is now the MetroWest Regional Collaborative.

Selectmen will interview a number of citizens who have volunteered to serve on Town boards and commissions and are expected to make appointments to the Historic District Commission and the Conservation Commission.  A number of vacancies remain; a revised list of currently open positions is posted in the lobby of Town Building.

Later in the meeting, selectmen will consider the consent calendar, review correspondence, and discuss agenda items for future meetings.   The Board will conclude the proceedings with an executive session to discuss pending litigation.

The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meeting Room.

Note that the next following meeting of the Board of Selectmen is scheduled to be held on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Building.
