Destructive Wayland Storm Declared A Microburst

WBZ.TV 6/25/10: Destructive Wayland Storm Declared A Microburst. Weather experts say the powerful storm that tore through a Wayland neighborhood Thursday was a microburst, not a tornado. Bob Thompson of the National Weather Service told WBZ the storm was a very organized super cell that created microbursts along the way. "There was a weak rotation," he said. "But not tight enough for a tornado." Meanwhile, work crews have launched an all-out assault on the toppled trees and downed wires from the storm. Massive trucks clogged Davelin and Cole Streets on Friday.
