LEES/Pine Brook Associations invite residents to Community Preservation Committee meeting on June 22

The LEES/Pine Brook Associations, Wayland citizens determined to save the old Lee Farm property on Route 20, the historic Boston Post Road, have reached a significant milestone. After 3 years of considering alternatives they have set their sights on creating a community farm on a significant portion of the Lee farmland.  On June 22, together with the Bongiorno family, the owners of the property, and Oxbow Partners, they will ask the Community Preservation Committee to consider a proposal to fund this effort. Widespread community support is needed to head off any dense development and preserve the rural landscape with a farm where food can be grown locally, and environment sustainability practices can be supported within our town and schools and places of worship. The meeting is 7:30pm, in the Wayland Town Building. For more information see www.waylandcommfarm.wordpress.com.  For more information, see this more detailed piece published in the Town Crier.
