Wayland Town Crier 5/20/10: Support Paws in the Park event at Wayside Inn. Back in the late 1990s, Wayland’s Shirley Moore made her dream come true. After a long and successful high-tech career, she decided to establish a local nonprofit to rescue dogs and puppies in danger of being abandoned. At first, Moore ran the operations out of her home. Then, after several years, she was able to acquire a permanent shelter facility. Today, her Save A Dog is one of the premiere canine adoption programs in MetroWest, and the organization’s annual fundraiser, Paws in the Park, is a widely anticipated event amongst local dog lovers. This year, Paws in the Park will take place, rain or shine, on Sunday, May 23 from 10am-3pm at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury.
