These were the words used by friends and colleagues recently to describe Wayland’s Jim ("Make-It-Happen") Burkley, who died unexpectedly last week at the age of 76. At the time of his death, Burkley was chairman of the town’s Veterans Committee, where – by all accounts – he was a force akin to nature.
