MetroWest Daily News 5/5/10: Candidates debate for Scott Brown's Senate seat . In the only debate before the May 11 special election, state Senate hopefuls Peter Smulowitz and Richard Ross last night squared off on the economy, health care and job growth. At the event, moderated by Town Clerk Gail Bernardo, each candidate offered opening statements to a large audience at King Philip Middle School before diving into the hot-button issues. Voters will hit the booths next Tuesday to fill Scott Brown's seat in the state Senate. The district includes Wayland, Millis, Sherborn, Needham, Wrentham, Norfolk, Plainville and North Attleborough as well as parts of Natick, Franklin, Wellesley and Attleboro.
