A concert to benefit Haiti relief efforts as part of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals

Church of the Holy Spirit, Wayland, presents the final concert of its 2009-10 Benefit Performance Series with a festive concert of music presented by the choirs of Church of the Holy Spirit (Wayland) and the Community United Methodist Church (Wayland), under the direction of Daniel Ryan and Chrissy Almeida. The program will feature selections from the Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi. Also included will be an array of contemporary Christian, World Music, and folk selections by Michael V. Smith, Chrissy Almeida and Dave Shrewsbury, traditional African praise songs and more. The concert will take place on Sunday, May 16 at 7:00 pm., and a reception will follow the performance.

Admission is $10 suggested donation. All proceeds from the concert will benefit Haiti relief efforts as administered by Episcopal Relief and Development and the United Methodist Committee on Relief.

About the Beneficiaries of this Benefit Concert.
United Methodists have had a long-standing relationship with Haiti through the Methodist Church of Haiti. The strong ties between the Methodist Church of Haiti and The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) helped in facilitating the opening of the UMCOR Haiti field office in 2005. 100 percent of Advance gifts made will go to support relief and development efforts due to emergencies in Haiti. Contributions to Episcopal Relief and Development's Haiti Earthquake Response Fund will help provide critical assistance in the aftermath of the January 12 earthquake.
