MassDEP warns well owners to check for possible contamination

Metrowest Daily News 4/1/10: MassDEP warns well owners to check for possible contamination. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) urges owners of drinking water wells to check their systems and take action if a wellhead has been contaminated due to pollutants in flood waters caused by this week’s heavy rain. MassDEP today warned all residents and businesses who use wells located on their properties – and who are not connected to a public water supply system – to assume that your well is contaminated if your well cap is or has been underwater.
