Lake Cochituate PCB cleanup to start in April

Metrowest Daily News 3/19/10: Lake Cochituate PCB cleanup to start in April. The cleanup and preservation of Lake Cochituate took up two spots on the Conservation Commission’s agenda last night, as members heard details of the removal of PCBs by Natick Labs and they met with a new group formed to protect the lake.

In late April, the U.S. Soldier Systems Center – Natick Labs – will begin removing PCBs from the Pegan Cove area of Lake Cochituate. The work includes dredging six inches to a foot of sediment from the three spots on the lake floor, said John McHugh, Natick Labs’ environmental chief.
