Progress on town center: Town Meeting vote eases housing rule

Boston Globe 11/26/09: Wayland trims affordable housing requirement for project at former Raytheon site. Wayland officials say they hope workers will break ground in the spring on a new town center project after Town Meeting last week voted to remove a hurdle that could have tripped it up. After a procedural wrestling match that included three votes over two nights, Town Meeting ultimately approved a change allowing the developer to reduce the number of affordable housing units in the project.
