Investigating transportation options for seniors

Wayland Town Crier 11/24/09: Investigating transportation options for seniors. With the holiday season hard upon us (and a happy Thanksgiving to you all, by the way), thoughts turn to the packed schedule of events between now and the end of the year – shopping for gifts and food, refurbishing and redecorating for holiday visitors, getting out to parties, and all the other myriad chores and errands that pop up along the way. For those of us who still drive, this presents only minor challenges. But for many others who aren’t comfortable behind the wheel anymore, a certain amount of panic may set in. Fortunately, the Wayland Council on Aging offers a number of transportation options and, by making a few judicious choices and scheduling a bit in advance, residents who no longer drive can likely finish all their errands, make their medical appointments, and get to a few social events in the meantime.
