Wayland Town Crier 11/20/09: Wayland resident comes in first for ultramarathon. For the average person, a leisurely walk in the woods – a mile or two, an hour or so – is just about right. For most, a marathon is unthinkable.

But for Wayland’s Larissa Abramiuk, clocking 50 miles in about seven-and-a-half hours is all in a day’s work. Abramiuk recently won the USA Track & Field (USATF) Tussey Mountain Ultramarathon in Pennsylvania.
